The Dark Divine
Bree Despain
Blurb: Grace Divine—daughter of the local pastor—always knew something terrible happened the night Daniel Kalbi disappeared and her brother Jude came home covered in his own blood.
Now that Daniel's returned, Grace must choose between her growing attraction to him and her loyalty to her brother.
As Grace gets closer to Daniel, she learns the truth about that mysterious night and how to save the ones she loves, but it might cost her the one thing she cherishes most: her soul. (from Goodreads)
Length: Medium - 372 pages
Notes: I think I am going to make myself a new rule. I can't read anymore series books until the full series has been released and I can read them one right after another. I actually really liked this book. It was a page turner, and I found myself totally invested in it. But then it is over, left wide open at the end, and the next book doesn't come out until the end of December. And I'm sure there will be more books to follow. It's just so frustrating because I want to see where the series goes! (I've never been known for my patience, can you tell??) Regardless, I did really like this book. I never know quite what to expect in this vampire/werewolf/magic/monster genre that is so popular right now, but I don't feel like this book was a rip-off of any other books that are out right now. I liked it!
Random quote : "I almost laughed in spite of my nerves. What were the odds that two werewolves had the hots for me? Like I was some gigantic monster magnet. Was there a sign on my back that said, bite me, I'm available !?"
