Look Who's 3!!

**I actually didn't take her 3 year old pictures until April, but to be able to find them easily, I'm back-dating them to her birthday. Because that's the way I work!**

I can't believe my little girl is 3 years old!!  It seems like just yesterday that we were celebrating her first birthday.  And then I blinked, and we are already at 3 years!!

Abbi is so full of personality.  I have never met another child with as much personality as she has.  She is fearless and has no shyness in her at all.  She loves to talk to everyone and anyone, whether she knows them or not!

She loves her little brother, and only very rarely will she show jealousy towards him.  Most of the time, she is so happy to play with him and to make him laugh.

She loves playing with her cousins more than anything else.  She'll talk about them always, and it's the best thing ever when she gets to hand out and play with them.

She loves to dance, and she loves to sing. She will make up her own songs if she needs to, and always wants to put on dance concerts for us to watch.

She is obsessed with baby dolls. When we were living at my parent's house, she was in heaven with all of the baby dolls that she had to play with. Her collection at home isn't quite as large, but I anticipate that it will be growing!

She also still loves Dora the Explorer, but has some new favorites as well, including Bubble Guppies and Super Why.

She is getting really good at drawing and loves to draw pictures. She loves coloring books, but she'd be just as happy with a piece of scratch paper and a bunch of crayons.

Abbi still is a cuddler, which I love! When she wakes up, or when she is sad or hurt, she always wants to cuddle. I'll take cuddles as long as I can get them, and I hope she always loves to cuddle with mommy!

Abbi always surprises me with how smart she is. She has a great memory and doesn't forget anything. She'll remember the name of a person or of a place better than I can!

I feel so blessed to have such a beautiful, smart and funny daughter. She makes me smile every day. Sometimes, she has a little too much spirit and can sure throw a fit, but it's all worth it, because I love her so much. I'm so happy she is a part of our family!!

I feel like I need to explain a few of these. These were her actual answers, but some of them made me laugh because I don't know where she got the answers from.  I had to laugh that she thought of corn as a fruit, (and she does ask for it often, but rarely eats it...).  Her best friend - Glowy - is her imaginary friend.  I don't know where she came from, or where the name came from, but Abbi loves to play with her, and loves to blame anything that she does wrong on Glowy.  And I'm not sure why she chose orange juice - she very rarely will even drink juice!!  Her favorite game - Tennis - is actually from a video game that Josh will play, and she'll pretend to play next to him.  I think it's her favorite just becasue she is spending time playing with dad!!

Happy Birthday, Bug!

My Little Artist

Abbi got some paints in her stocking at Christmas, and she has been loving to paint and make art.  I think we have a littlp Picasso on our hands!!  Needless to say, our refrigerator has been full of art projects lately!

Second Christmas

Since Christmas this year was a little bit crazy, the kids got lucky and were able to have a "second" Christmas when nanas brought over Christmas gifts just after the new year.  It was fun to see how excited Abbi was, and maybe it was even better this way so that they didn't have toy overload on Christmas day!  Both Abbi and Easton sure were spoiled, and they loved every single thing they got.  (and excuse the really horrible, blurry iPhone pics.  I was feeling lazy!)

New Beginnings

First sunset of 2012

January 1st. It's a day for new beginnings, right?

I've been a bit absent from this blog lately. I blame it on a busy life. I would promise myself day after day that I would catch up, and then I'd be up until midnight working, and staying up another hour to blog just wasn't going to happen. I got further and further behind, until I was just so overwhelmed looking at everything I had to catch up on, that I would just put it on the bottom of the list.

But I'm making a new year's resolution. I'm not usually very good at new year's resolutions, but I think this one is important. I'm going to blog again. Because this is my journal - my memories. I feel so badly that I can't even remember when Easton hit some milestones, because I was too busy to blog about it. If it's not written here, I don't remember. I'm still going to work on getting caught up, but I'm starting fresh here, too. No more waiting to catch up before moving forward. I'm moving forward, and I'll catch up in the meantime. And the goal here is to not get behind again. I need to take a step back and slow down just a little bit.

Here's to a wonderful 2012!!
