Pizza date!!

Earlier this week, Max started acting like something was wrong - I was afraid it was his back, and he was scaring me, so I ended up taking him to the vet.  They couldn't find anything, and gave him some medicine that would help if his back was hurting.  A few days later, he was still pretty bad, so I ended up taking him back in for xrays.  They still couldn't find anything definitive, but they had to put him under to do the xrays.  We had planned on going to the lights at temple square, but didn't want to leave Max at home alone after being under, so we decided to wait until next week.  Instead, I took the kids out for pizza.  We tried a new place down the street from us and had a good time!!

I've said it before, I'll say it again - sometimes I think this dog is more high maintenance than my kids are!

Creche 2015

We decided to head up to Heber/Midway to see the Creche exhibit again this year.  In years past, it was at the Homestead, and there were hundreds of nativities.  They switched it to the community center, and sadly, they said it is 1/5 the amount of exhibits as it was at the Homestead, simply because they don't have the space.

While it was a little disappointing that it was so small, it was still fun to spend the time with my family and to remember what the Christmas season is really about.

Pizza, Games and Presents

What a busy day!!  After sleeping in a bit and getting breakfast, Josh and I headed back from Park City and got home just before noon.  We picked the kids up from the sitter, and a little after that, headed to Chuck e Cheese's to celebrate Camden's birthday. I had been asking Camden what he wanted to do for his birthday, and he kept just saying he wanted to play.  But then he heard Easton saying he wanted to go to Chuck e Cheese for his birthday, and all of a sudden, that's what he wanted to do, too.

The food was just as bad as I had remembered, but the kids had fun.  They went home with plastic bugs and spiders, bracelets and whistles, and hopes to go back for the next birthday.

That night, nanas and gump gump came over with presents.  Camden scored with a Star Wars plane, new pjs and slippers, and a whole slew of hot wheels cars.

Needless to say, all the kids fell asleep quickly when bedtime came!

Anniversary Celebrations

We had said that the cruise we took earlier this year would count as our 10 year anniversary celebration, but I knew that we needed to do something - even small - so a few weeks ago, I emailed my contact at Deer Valley to see if it was possible for us to get a room.  Well, just a few days ago, I heard back from her with reservations for tonight.  I was happy/excited, but finding a babysitter was quite the feat! My dad was in town, so I didn't want to bug my mom with it. My oldest neice was going out of town, and there was a school dance that most of the girls were already going to.  Plus it was ward temple night, so to say that babysitters were scarce is an understatement!!  We ended up with a plan that included 4 babysitters in less than 24 hours. :)

But it all worked out and Josh and I were able to go.  We got stuck in rush hour traffic, but finally made it to the Lodges at Deer Valley, with dinner at the Brass Tag.  The food was amazing, and we totally crashed after dinner.  I think we both needed a good night's rest!!

It is H-O-T outside!!  With temps in the 100s all weekend long, the kids just wanted to go out and play in the sprinklers.  Until they got out there and it was even too hot for sprinklers!  They lasted long enough to enjoy a popsicle, but then it was back inside into the air conditioned house!

For some reason, Abbi has really been into pranks lately.  She'll watch pranking videos on or on YouTube, and just wants to play pranks all day.  Since most of the pranks consist of things that are way too messy - like putting flour in the blow dryer or plastic wrap on the toilet - and mom says no to all of those, she decided to find her own way to prank.  So she got all dressed up and hid in her room until Easton came in where she jumped out and scared him. Everyone got a good laugh, including mom and dad since she managed to shimmy her way into an 18-month old costume.  Oh, how this girl makes us laugh!!

One thing is for sure - Abbi sure does love being in the spotlight.  She is constantly wanting her picture taken or a video taken of her.  I hope she always keeps that fearlessness!

This kid loves hats.  But he doesn't really have any of his own that still fit, so he wears some old adult sized ones at home all the time.  Walking through Target today, he saw this hat and had to have it.  And look at him - how could I resist??

We needed a photo of our family for an upcoming family reunion. We tried to selfie it, but ended up having to get the tripod and timer out.  I sure do love this family of mine!

And while you are outside, you just have to have jumping pictures, right?? :)

Sometimes it is so hard to get this girl to do her homework, but she is so smart and I love watching her work.  I'm so proud of all she does!

This boy...

He can be so frustrating and trying sometimes.  He refuses to grow up - doesn't want to get dressed himself, go to the bathroom himself, put on his own seatbelt.  And he still wants to ride in the cart at the grocery store.  It's so hard some days, because I just want/need him to have a little bit of independence.  But then sometimes I have one of those moments when I see just how much my kids are growing up, and I want a piece of that baby stage back again.  I know one day I'll look back on this stage of life and it will all just be a memory, and I'll long for the day when he wouldn't walk down the stairs without holding my hand.  Maybe I just need to hold onto every moment I have!

Post Easter

Since Easter Sunday and conference were on the same day, the kids didn't get the chance to get dressed up in their new Sunday clothes.  So an impromptu photoshoot before church happened today.

I sure do love these little people.  And I'm feeling completely blessed!

I sure am glad that these 3 are easy to please.  When you promise something fun every day for Spring break, and then it ends up pouring rain all day, a trip to Costco and pizza has to work in a pinch.  There was ice cream, too, which helped. ;)

It's a daily struggle - Camden will pull a chair over to the sink to play in it.  Usually I get frustrated because there are dishes in the sink and he's playing with old food and dirty dishes, but I decided to just clean it up and just let him play. It was wet everywhere and he was soaked by the time he was done, but he had so much fun.  Sometimes I need to remember to forget about the mess and just let them be kids.

These are usually the photos that never see the light of day, but as I was looking through them, I couldn't help but laugh out loud.  These kids sure do test my patience, but it's moments like this that make it all worth it. :)

(PS - Happy St. Patrick's Day!)
