Book #33 - Sapphique

Sapphique
Catherine Fisher

Blurb: Finn has escaped from the terrible living Prison of Incarceron, but its memory torments him, because his brother Keiro is still inside. Outside, Claudia insists he must be king, but Finn doubts even his own identity. Is he the lost prince Giles? Or are his memories no more than another construct of his imprisonment? And can you be free if your friends are still captive? Can you be free if your world is frozen in time? Can you be free if you don't even know who you are? Inside Incarceron, has the crazy sorcerer Rix really found the Glove of Sapphique, the only man the Prison ever loved. Sapphique, whose image fires Incarceron with the desire to escape its own nature. If Keiro steals the glove, will he bring destruction to the world? Inside. Outside. All seeking freedom. Like Sapphique. (From Goodreads)

Opening Sentence: "The alleyway was so narrow that Attia could lean against one wall and kick another."

Length:Long- 480 pages

Notes: I have to admit - I'm loving this series.  Although it looks like maybe it won't be continued??  (This book was written in 2008, and no word of another book.)  I think this series is a little confusing to get into to begin with, but once I started to understand what was going on, I was hooked.  Here's to crossing my fingers that a third book will come out one day!

Random quote: “He sang his last song. And the words of that have never been written down. But it was sweet and of great beauty, and those that heard it were changed utterly.
Some say it was the song that moves the stars.”

Recommend: yes
