Pumpkin Carving 2012

It's time for the annual Mitchell pumpkin carving party at the Holman's house!

Once again this year, the festivities did not disappoint.  There was wonderful food - lots of spooky food, too - great decorations, and of course... pumpkin carving!!

Abbi was really excited to have her own pumpkin to carve.  She even helped to pull out the seeds.

Then she drew the face on the pumpkin and I cut it out.  She was so proud of her pumpkin!

As always, there were some really great pumpkins carved.  It was such a fun night!!

Pumpkin Patch 2012

I have a "bucket list" of things I want to do before the baby comes.  I know that with 3 kids, 3 and under, it might be hard to get out and do things for awhile, so I need to take advantage of every moment I have, even though I feel large and not very well!!

On the list was of course - a visit to the pumpkin patch.  We have the coolest pumpkin patch here, with hayrides, corn pits, hay mazes and animals to pet.

So we loaded up the family and headed over for some fall fun!!

37 Weeks, 3 Days

Well, little guy - you are breaking the mold in every sense!  I had my doctor check up today, and while with both Abbi and Easton, I was dialated to a 2 at this point, I'm still at a 0 with you.  But that's ok, because I'm not quite ready for you to join us yet.  We still need to find a name for you, and I need to get busy washing baby clothes!!

Yesterday I was sitting in church and you had the hiccups.  I know this is pretty common for babies to have the hiccups, but you are the first of my children that I've been able to feel them with.  It sure made me giggle!!

I've been having tons of pretty painful Braxton hicks contractions, but I guess I can rest assured that these aren't the real deal quite yet.  I will just wait patiently and enjoy these last days of feeling you kick in my belly!

Little Ballerina

One good thing about living at my parents' house is that there is a lady here in the neighborhood that teaches ballet lessons.  She used to teach at a dance school, but has retired and now just teaches the neighborhood kids for free.

And since Abbi is always dancing, we thought she'd enjoy going to classes.  She was super excited her first day - especially because she got to wear ballet clothes!

I'm excited to see how much she'll like it!

Alpine Loop and Sundance

I started a new section on my other blog that is more travel related.  Kind of a mix between travel, exploring your own backyard, where food comes from, etc.  I'm going to keep most of it over there, but this is what I really love to do.  Sure, I love to cook, photograph and write about food, but I get excited about (trying to) take beautiful photographs and documenting the world around me.

So from time to time, I'll do a double post, since this one is for me, while the other is to share with the world.  :)

It had been forever since I had driven the Alpine Loop, so I took the kids up one afternoon. They weren't so thrilled about me stopping every 2 minutes to get out and take pictures, but I had fun!  And it really is gorgeous.  We also stopped off at Sundance to walk around and to get a treat.  The kids did like that part!
