4th of July Weekend Part 3 - The Parade

2nd thing on the agenda - the parade!! This was Abbi's first parade, and I knew she would have a good time. She was super tired when we first got there - probably had something to do with getting up so early - but she was a trooper and ended up getting a second wind and having a good time. Max on the other hand did not have a good time. He was a nervous mess. We know now never to take him to another parade!!

People are serious about this parade. So serious that they camp out the night before to have a street side view. We are not that serious. But when we showed up an hour before the parade, there was a lot of room in the grass right at the beginning of the parade route. It was good and bad - good because there was space, but bad because the parade entries came out of 3 different spots, and one of them we missed. But it was still fun!!

We stayed for about an hour, when Abbi started getting cranky. But I know she had fun and we can't wait for the next parade!

Abbi got a balloon when we first go there. That is really all that she needs to be happy! She did lose it not too long after she got it, but at least she just watched it float away and didn't throw a fit!

There was also a power line right where we were, so all of the big balloons had to be pulled down low to get under it. Another bad thing about our spot, I guess...

Both Josh and I decided that if we ever have to be in a wheelchair, we want one of these. Heck - I'd even love one right now, just to help me get around!!

Abbi loved dancing to the music whenever she would hear some!

You guys had such a busy weekend! That looks like a great parade. Totally puts our little town's parade to shame. Can't believe people stake out their spots so early!
