Book #3 - Sarah: Women of Genesis

Sarah: Women of Genesis
Orson Scott Card

I will be honest and admit that I've never really had an urge to just pick up the bible and read it. But honestly - after reading this book, I wanted to start reading the bible!

This book is based on the story of Abraham, through his wife - Sarah's eyes. While it is fiction, it is based on many factual things that are in the bible. It really brought everything to life to me, and I really, really enjoyed this book.

I didn't think that I would really get into this book, but I was proved wrong. My sister recommended it after her book group read it. She said that there were mixed reviews, but that she liked it. She said the main complaint was that people had Sarah up on a pedestal in their eyes before reading this, but after reading the book, it shows that she was human. I think that is what I really liked about it. I felt like even though we live in different times, and basically different worlds, I could relate to her as a woman. And I like to see people's faults, and to know that not everyone is perfect. Another one I recommend!

Have you read this book? Share your feelings!

I haven't ever read this one but I've read one like it..."Shadow Women." It's the story of Moses from the view points of Miriam, the Egyptian princess, and Tziporrah (Moses' wife). It's SO good!
