Book #27 - The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
Steig Larsson

This is one of those books that I've heard lots of hype about. I never really know what to expect - if it's really going to be good, or if people just love it because everyone is talking about it. I haven't read a murder mystery type book in quite some time, and I've realized just how much I like this type of book and that I need to read more like it.

That being said, I'm torn on how I feel about this book. I was a little confused at times because of financial jargon and Swedish names and locations, but it was pretty easy to follow. My biggest complaint was that I felt like the climax of the story happened, then the book kept going for another 60 or 70 pages. I was really into it, but then the last bit just wasn't as exciting and was a little hard to get through. I do also have to mention that there is a bit of bad language and sex, (which includes some rape and incest). If you are looking for a really clean book, this is not one you want to read. But it was a page turner and I think I'd be interested in reading the second book in a 3 book series. (Also interesting to note - the author of the 3 books died before any of them were published.)

Have you read this book? Share your feelings!

I tried to read this, but it didn't grab my attention immediately. And for me to stay awake to read anything right now, it has to be REALLY good! I am going to go back and try this one later this year, though, because I've heard good things about it and the next one in the series.
