4th of July Weekend Part 2 - The Balloon Festival

I'm warning you right now - I know I usually go picture crazy, but I went really crazy on this post! I just had the hardest time narrowing down the photos!!

A couple of months before the 4th of July, we got a booklet in the mail with all of the Freedom Days activities that were going to be happening. I marked a few of them down, and I'm so glad we actually went and did a couple of things!

One thing I've always wanted to do is go to the Balloon Festival. And this year was the year! We woke up super early - Josh and I got up at 5am and woke up Abbi at 5:30am so that we could leave by 6. The balloons were supposed to take off at 6:30, and we got there with plenty of time to see them still inflating some of the balloons and we were there for the take off. It was quite a sight to see!! Abbi absolutely loved it and was entranced by the balloons.

This is something that we want to make a tradition every year now - it was so much fun!!

The Coca-Cola balloon didn't actually fly because there wasn't enough room to land it. But it was huge - they said 17 stories tall!

After we left, we decided to sit in the car for a bit before heading over to the parade. The balloons were still in the air, and Abbi just loved watching them! (And my mirror really needs washed...)
