Book #44 - Uglies

Uglies
Scott Westerfeld

Blurb: Tally is about to turn sixteen, and she can't wait. Not for her license—for turning pretty. In Tally's world, your sixteenth birthday brings an operation that turns you from a repellent ugly into a stunningly attractive pretty and catapults you into a high-tech paradise where your only job is to have a really great time. In just a few weeks Tally will be there.

But Tally's new friend Shay isn't sure she wants to be pretty. She'd rather risk life on the outside. When Shay runs away, Tally learns about a whole new side of the pretty world—and it isn't very pretty. The authorities offer Tally the worst choice she can imagine: find her friend and turn her in, or never turn pretty at all. The choice Tally makes changes her world forever. (From Goodreads)

Length: Long - 425 pages

Notes: This was a very fun book. I actually heard about it months ago from my hairdresser, and remembered it a month or two back so I requested it at the library. Then, I had it with me at my sister's house, and 3 people there saw it and commented that they really liked it. It was a super easy read. I don't know why, but I've been really into these futuristic, the world has changed books lately, and this one falls into that category. It leaves you hanging at the end, so I can't wait until the next book is available for me at the library. But I can say that I really wish I had a hoverboard!!

Random quote : "Perhaps the logical conclusion of everyone looking the same is everyone thinking the same."

Recommend: Yes

I loved these books! I've read all four of them, and I have to say that the first one is still my favorite.
