American Idol: NaBloPoMo Day #9
Ok, maybe I just don't know a lot about music, but I just don't get it. The one and only time Simon has given a standing ovation, and it was for this??? I don't hate it, but I think that if I were to hear it on the radio, I probably would have changed the station. Am I alone here???

I'm with ya on this one, I enoyed the original a lot better. He sounds a little nasally to me. I really haven't kept up with Idol since Kelly Clarkson. My mom still loves it a lot though!
I think when Adam did "Tracks of my Tears" it was much, MUCH better than what he did this week. He deserved standing ovation for THAT performance! This one didn't hit me the same way. That Simon. You just never know with him.
totally in agreement with you. I'm not even into AI anymore....but I watched this to see what the big deal was....and you're right...NOT that great!
Okay, I liked it. But I like the song in the first place which always helps. 80's music isn't really my thing so I wasn't into most of the songs performed that night. I'm not a huge Adam fan...I don't think I'd ever download any of his songs, including this one. But I think he's a good performer and he knows what he's doing. I probably wouldn't have given him a standing ovation but I would have given him good remarks :)

I really like the original song, and this version was done by Gary Jules. I REALLY loved this song but I did enjoy Tracks of my Tears...
I think he is talented performer...
I don't watch AI, but my sister LOVED this performance. She made me listen to it (but I don't care for the song.) She wants him to win.
He was flat at the beginning. That's all I can remember from watching the clip.
